Chevron GR8 gets its kit on

New Cossie-powered coupe tests fully-dressed at Anglesey

The Chevron GR8 has been tested for the first time with bodywork in place.

Development testing has been going on since February but previously the GR8 had only run in naked chassis form.

The first test of the Chevron GR8 complete with full bodywork was held at the Anglesey Circuit today. In cool but dry conditions, the Cosworth 2.0 litre YD powered mid-engined competition coupe covered over 100 miles - which is equivalent to three Chevron GR8 Challenge Series race distances, the competition for which the new car has been conceived.

Winter Race Meeting Success

Congratulations also go to Graham Wait and Tim Evans (winners of the Sports & Saloons 'A' races); Kevin Lewis and Nigel Grant (Formula Ford) and Andrew Donald and Nick Brace in winning the Legends heats before losing out to Glen Burtenshaw in the Grand Final. 

 

 
   

James Bond stunt driver visits Anglesey Circuit

Mark HigginsThree times British Rally Champion, Mark Higgins, paid the circuit a visit on Tuesday, 2 June. Mark is also the stunt driver in the new James Bond movie "Quantum of Solace".
   

New Anglesey circuit opens to wide acclaim

The completely rebuilt Anglesey circuit opened in style on Saturday (26 May) when the North Western Centre of the BRSCC ran the first races on the spectacular 1.55-mile coastal circuit.

The two-day meeting drew a record entry for Anglesey, with over 210 cars filling the paddock. Drivers in the Pre '90 classes in the North West Formula Ford Championship had the honour of being the first to race on the new track and it was Nigel Thompson who carved a place in racing history by winning the opening race.
